We specialize in Estate Planning & Elder Law. We are a member of Lawyers with Purpose. A national organization for attorneys practicing in estate planning, elder law, Medicaid planning, asset protection & Special Needs planning.
Why I Do What I Do
I believe that Estate Planning is here to give you control over who is in charge of taking care of you and control over how you take care of your family after you are gone. Without proper planning you can lose control and your family will not be able to take care of you as easily, or you will not leave your estate for the benefit of your family according to your wishes.
I had an experience in my own family where during a crisis, we lost control over where my grandmother was going to receive care. This caused my grandparents in their last years to be separated by a long distance after more than 60 years of marriage. I believe that my grandparents have drawn me into the field of estate planning and elder law to affect the lives of my clients so that they can have a different experience at the end of their lives than my grandparents did.
I place a special emphasis on protecting the assets of aging loved ones and educating families about complicated laws and the best options available to them. I am passionate about helping others preserve their money, avoid probate, and achieve lifetime estate planning goals.
I started my post-law school career working for a large financial company helping financial planners with advanced estate planning and tax planning. I utilize this financial services experience to bring a different perspective to my estate planning and elder law clients. My number one priority is to educate and empower clients to make the best decision for them and their family; there is no one way to do things. I strive to give clients options and let them choose which direction they want to go.
I like to say, “If you don’t ask yourself the right questions, you never get the right answer for you and your family.”
Skip was born and raised Aurora, Colorado, graduating from Smoky Hill High School. He graduated from the University of Kansas after being on the swimming team there for four years. Skip has an MBA and his law degree from the University of Wyoming. Skip is married to Erin and they have two vibrant young boys Braden and Kade.

VISION
We are not drab, dark, somber and scary. We are not rows of headstones. We are not backhoes and neglected landscaping. We are light. And nature. We are a gathering place. And an entertainment venue. We are family reunions. And a setting for stories told of loved ones. Of fathers and mothers, sisters and brothers. We are a chance to reacquaint yourself with friends and distant family. We are roses and poppies. Cottonwoods and creeks. Sculptures and waterfalls. We are where people remember, and pay honor, in a place where they feel good just being. We are inviting paths and welcoming people. We are a place that makes smiles easier to come by at a time when they’re the hardest to come by. We help to heal. And allow you to remember. We are beauty and nature. We are a slice of Colorado in the shadow of the mountains. We are the promise of a well-kept place for generations to come. We are Seven Stones.
Certified Life-Cycle Celebrants® are individuals who understand how ceremony, storytelling, and ritual can vitally serve, as conscious aspects, in our lives; they also recognize that our society is awakening to this fact. Certified Celebrants, educated through the Celebrant Foundation & Institute, have coupled their passion for ceremony with rigorous training in faith traditions, mythology, and the art of ceremonial writing and speaking.
Regardless of whether a ceremony originates from a secular, spiritual or religious point of view, Celebrants collect gems of information from their clients, collaboratively design the structure of the celebration, and then craft a personalized ceremony to uplift, inspire and deepen the meaning of the moment.
Celebrants are Ceremony Specialists. They have studied the history, theory, principles and concepts of ritual – the foundational tools that make for a significant event. Celebrants are also savvy questioners. They take great care and time with their clients during the interview process. As a result, this shared experience brings forth the story (the hallmark of a Celebrant Ceremony), builds rapport, and grounds a sense of trust in the ceremony’s development. This first-hand level of attention is a distinctive feature that Certified Life-Cycle Celebrants bring to the creative table of ceremony making.
Colorado Burial Preserve & Cremation Garden in Florence is the first cemetery in the state dedicated to conservation. Instead of the manicured sod and tight rows at a conventional cemetery, the Preserve is 65 acres of natural prairie-pinyon habitat. After a burial, the soil is amended and seeded with adapted native perennials to help combat invasive weeds. This proactive treatment improves the quality of forage and habitat for countless native and migratory birds, animals and pollinator insects. Families of the deceased find comfort knowing that the body can return to the earth in the natural way, and new life is enriched throughout our ecosystem as a result.
Colorado Burial Preserve, Ltd. was founded in 2020 in response to growing demand in the community for a wild final resting place. Development and Green Burial Council certification involved an Environmental Impact Analysis to thoroughly evaluate the baseline ecological conditions at the Preserve. As a certified Natural Burial Grounds, CBP permits only unembalmed remains to be buried in biodegradable caskets or shrouds. The burial gardens, which consist of both full body and cremation graves, are designed with extra-large spaces. This way, funeral services need not destroy the existing native vegetation or other unique features of the landscape. Options for memorial markers blend with the natural environment.
The first six burial gardens are available now for prearrangement and immediate need. Private tours of the Preserve are now available by appointment, and development continues on hiking trails, an outdoor service chapel, and a sustainably-built, off-grid restroom facility. When finished, the Preserve will be a public resource for nature enrichment, promoting awareness of our interconnected ecosystem, as well as a peaceful and beautiful location to establish the legacy of a family cemetery plot.
CBP Owner and founder Emily B. Miller, CMSP, is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. She stepped away from a career in conventional funeral home management to become a leader in conservation burial in Colorado. Inspired by this history in funeral service, Emily envisions the Preserve as a catalyst for reclaiming burial rituals and climate-conscious end-of-life education.

Grief is the normal and natural emotional reaction to any change that has impacted a life.
Often people buy-in to the myths about grief. It is not unusual, after a loss, that there are many things that must be done. Often people decide that they “must be strong” for all those around them and suppress their own feelings of pain and loss, so that they can be there for others. Some people feel that the best way to handle their personal loss is to “keep busy” with work or other endeavors, rather than taking time to go through the grief process. I believe unresolved grief is the major underlying issue in most people’s lives. As someone who has endured losses, I have learned the problem with grief is that if you fail to take action to deal with your personal emotional pain, and instead suppress it, it waits deep inside to haunt you later.
Successful recovery from loss involves sorting out the things that were incomplete and putting voice to those things we wish might have been different or better. It also involves dealing with the dreams and expectations of a different future than what is being faced after that loss. This is the foundation for the Grief Recovery Method. Coming through my experience, I felt a calling to help others who have endured losses and help them and myself heal and lead happy lives.
Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning to dance in the rain… ~Vivian Greene

We are on a mission to improve the quality of all our lives by changing the way the world thinks about death.
Our story begins in 2020 after a sudden cancer diagnosis. Even though we had always acknowledged death is part of life, we were not prepared for its abrupt possibility of it in our own. We quickly realized a last will & testament, important parts of end-of-life planning, do not complete a legacy. There is so much more we could do to memorialize our extraordinary lives. This sounds like an easy problem to solve, but how?
With no direct solution available we were inspired into action & formed a compassionate team of two software engineers, a sales executive, and an advanced practice nurse. Together, we developed an affordable end-of-life planning technology based in clinical research, to help people sick or healthy capture and preserve their legacy through storytelling, gaining appreciation and acceptance of who they are and the life they are living.
As founders with our own history of loss and death, we consider it a privilege to help everyone plan for a good death through legacy building. That’s why we founded MyLivingObituary.com- to improve the quality of all our lives by helping people take control of life’s final act. This way extraordinary and meaningful lives will not fade away but will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone who is loved.

The Labyrinth of the Heart Center, LLC was created to support families going through pregnancy and infant loss and grief in order to honor our dead and our journeys with them in unity and love. Classes are offered to support families by learning appropriate communication skills around death, using ritual and creative arts for healing, and strengthening networks and communities. Writing classes are offered to individuals who are seeking a modality to express grief and honor loved ones. Motherhood includes all of our losses at the Center. We honor each other through compassion, and work with the ancestors who have also lost pregnancies and babies from the beginning of humanity. All are welcome at our table.
Dianna’s pregnancy with her daughter, Mary Rose, who died an hour after birth of trisomy 18, changed her life completely. Dianna wishes to change the cultural fear of death and social awkwardness around the bereaved by educating others to be present and open to the natural process of death. Miscarriage rates and infant death rates are high in our country, yet little support is available to families over the years.
She has written a poetry collection and novel and is in the process of seeking publication for both manuscripts. Find her poems, short fiction and essays online and on her YouTube channel.
My baby is dead. For five months of my pregnancy I knew that my daughter, Mary Rose, would die, though I did not know when she would die. What surprises me most is that I am alive. I am alive after the heartache of knowing about her condition, alive after holding her still body in my arms moments after her birth. Afterpains came with empty arms, as did my baby’s milk. Those months of pregnancy with the knowledge that our baby had trisomy 18 felt like a million years of sadness. . . During my pregnancy I did not find much to comfort me. I am writing the book that I wish I could have read when I was pregnant with my daughter. . .
I see life as spiritual path. I can only make sense of Mary Rose’s life if I look at it from a distance. I put myself in the context of my grandmothers and great-grandmothers. Women have been burying their children since the beginning of time. I am one woman who has walked this searing path of pain. Yet somewhere inside our hearts we have the strength to carry on, not to move on, as some would want us to do. We can continue our lives taking our babies with us. Our arms are empty, but our hearts are full. The love we have for our children, living or dead, grows. I do not believe in a final good-bye.
Dianna Vagianos Armentrout offers workshops and classes on grief and loss. Her class on Pregnancy and Infant Loss is modeled after her book Walking the Labyrinth of Heart: A Journey of Pregnancy, Grief and Newborn Death which details her pregnancy and grief journey of receiving a life-limiting diagnosis for her unborn baby mid-pregnancy. Her book has helped people let go of their loved ones at the end of their life, including Kirsty Reyes who said Dianna’s words helped her take care of her mother who was dying of Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases.
Additionally, Dianna teaches poetry, creative nonfiction and fiction. She has spoken to many audiences on poetry and other topics related to creative arts in her career. She currently has classes on grief, motherhood and gardening open on her website http://www.diannavagianos.com.

Tawnya is a Home Funeral Guide, Life-Cycle Celebrant & Grief Companion. She offers home funeral education and support, custom ceremonies across the life-cycle with an emphasis in death and dying, and bereavement support.
Home funerals are when the bereaved choose to tend to the decedent themselves and/or hold a home vigil/viewing/wake with the decedent in the privacy of their own home or space. Home funerals are legal in all fifty states. See Dear Departures’ FAQ page for more information.
As a Life-Cycle Celebrant specializing in funerals, memorials, celebrations-of-life, graveside services, ash-scatterings, pregnancy and infant loss ceremonies, memorial dedications, virtual ceremonies, and more, Tawnya is strongly suited to tell authentic stories.
Living funerals are events where, when someone is nearing the end-of-life, they become the guest of honor at their own exit-party! More and more people are coming around the idea that, rather than have everyone sit around and tell stories about how great you were after you’re gone, it’s a much richer experience to be a part of that conversation while you’re still alive!
She strives to convey legacies with candor, tact, and grace.
Living Funerals are also an opportunity for the dying person to share with others what an impact those people have made on their life.
She offers ceremonies for those whose relationship with the dead was complicated, especially when trauma is a part the survivors’ past with the dead. It is critical to acknowledge the gravity of the situation in a way that gives voice to the survivors’ pain, by staying true to the narrative. Humans are fallible, after all.
“Do-over” memorials are for those who either never had a meaningful memorial for a loved one at all, or, if the one they did have was unsatisfactory. Whether your loved one has been gone for a year, or a decade, it’s never too late to create a meaningful tribute. This process can be therapeutic, especially as it relates to our past culture around miscarriages and/or infant deaths that weren’t given the acknowledgment that they deserved.
Tawnya also offers guidance in eulogy writing, as well as in crafting your own obituary! Obituaries don’t have to be simple timelines of events. They can be fun, witty, reverent, and lush! One need not be dying to start writing an obituary. Getting a head start means that when the inevitable happens, (be it tomorrow or years from now,) the things that are important to YOU about your life’s story have been highlighted!
Additionally, she offers pet-honoring ceremonies before, during, or after a pet death.
She’s even crafted send-offs for non-living beloveds, like vehicles lost to accidents, and homes lost to fire.
The sky is the limit in how we acknowledge and honor our grief!

We are a spiritual center for individuals seeking meaning, purpose, and healing in The Afternoon of Life (midlife and beyond).
We are Ariela and Baruch HaLevi, co-founders of Soul Centered, and a couple who is passionate about reimagining The Afternoon of Life (midlife and beyond).
Our mission is to empower our clients and community in consciously creating new goals, proactively designing new rules, and practically implementing new tools, as they discover their innate healing wisdom, live wholeheartedly, and unleash their soul in ways that are only possible during The Afternoon of Life.
Why we created Soul Centered
Soul Centered was created to provide a place for anyone seeking to consciously face the crossroads of midlife and courageously journey through the Afternoon of Life.
For over twenty years we dreamed of building a spiritual center where people could engage in self discovery and soul exploration, uncovering deeper meaning within their struggles, realize their true purpose in this life, and experience holistic healing through all of life’s traumas and tragedies.
This dream has been motivated by professional passions, as well as personal desires.
All of our life we have longed for a spiritual home based on universal truths, drawing upon all wisdom traditions, incorporating spiritual practice, informed by intellect, infused with holistic healing and filled by people seeking conscious community, desiring to support one another on their journey.
Although we built variations of this throughout our careers, and discovered pieces of this in places ranging from synagogues and churches to yoga studios and zen centers, from counseling and healing centers to new age communities across the world, we never fully realized what we were looking for…
So, we founded Soul Centered.
As The Healer (Ariela) and The Guide (Baruch), we utilize our signature programs and pathways, empowering you to:
Discover the possibilities within your struggles and potential within your shadows (Meaning)
Uncover your authentic self and realize your true purpose (Purpose)
Express your emotions as a pathway to liberate your body and live with inner freedom (Healing)
Wake up to your spirit, letting it guide you forward in your life (Spirituality)
Ariela is available to be your Healer if….

Illness and chronic issues have caused so much fear and frustration that your body feels like a burden and not a joy
Baruch is available to be your Guide if…
You are standing at one of life’s many crossroads, or as he calls them, “Life’s T’s” (Transitions, Tests, Trials, Traumas or Tragedies)…
