Labyrinth of the Heart Center, LLC
Dianna Vagianos Armentrout
Dianna Vagianos Armentrout was pregnant with her second child when a routine ultrasound revealed life-limiting outcomes for her daughter Mary Rose who had trisomy 18. In a pregnancy where hormones wanted to nest and prepare for new life, Dianna planned her unborn baby’s funeral knowing that Mary Rose’s life would be short. Grief became her companion for the second half of her pregnancy and the years that followed. She had two early miscarriages after Mary Rose’s death. How do parents cope with early losses of children through infant death and miscarriage when society denies the existence of these children? Dianna wrote Walking the Labyrinth of the Heart: A Journey of Pregnancy, Grief and Infant Death to support families through pregnancy and infant loss.
Dianna founded the Labyrinth of the Heart Center, LLC, and is an affiliate member of the Colorado End of Life Collaborative. She offers several writing and support classes on zoom at this time. Her grief class supports the bereaved as well as providers to better care for their patients experiencing infant and pregnancy loss. Her next pregnancy and infant loss class will be on zoom in March 2022.

Dianna is an advocate for accepting death as a natural part of life with love and compassion. She believes that all women deserve support for their losses regardless of how they come to each woman’s body. The metaphor that illness and death are a battle to be fought does not support the dying nor their loved ones.
She lives in Littleton and is studying classical homeopathy with the intention of opening a private practice in the fall of 2022. Her poetry, fiction and nonfiction have been published in several journals and anthologies, some of which appear on her website.
