Details
Join veteran Denver historian Phil Goodstein for a stroll in and around Emanuel Cemetery. Phil is a Denver native who grew up in the BMH. He is the author of about 30 books on the city and has been conducting tours since the mid 80’s. Soon after the arrival of the fist Jews in Denver in 1859, the community had to deal with its dead. Initially, the deceased were interred in the Hebrew Cemetery, land that includes what has become the parking garage of the Botanic Gardens. Come and learn about the final resting place of many Jewish Denver’s foremost figures. Accessibility: 1/2 mile tour, much of which will be on paved paths suitable for wheelchairs or other mobility devices. Cost is $20 per person. Payable by check or cash on the day of tour. Registration is required.
