Marisa Rose Verrier

Details

It is my great honor to introduce Marisa Rose Verrier. I first met Marisa in June 2018 at a metaphysical shop in Littleton called Discover Your Spiritual Gifts. She was hosting what she called a “Death Doula Coffee Klatch” MeetUp group. I had completed my training as a death doula the year before and was desperate to meet others on the same path. Upon meeting Marisa, I could immediately tell that she was kind, compassionate, shy, and deeply spiritual. She led a powerful grounding meditation with that group that I still remember and use to this day.
Marisa is a beautiful light in the world to all who know her. She leads with her heart and encourages others to do the same. She has a unique talent for helping others feel seen, heard, and comforted. She is an authentic companion, willing to witness the pain and sorrow that can accompany the end of life while also recognizing the sacred joy and beauty that may be present.
For many years, Marisa devoted herself to caregiving and end-of-life support, primarily with people. She brought dedication, compassion, and meticulous care to this demanding role, including caring for her own mother during the final months of her life. Marisa was with her mother when she took her last breath in 2023.
Following her mother’s death, Marisa hoped to transition from working with people at the end of life to supporting companion animals and their families. She worked with a small number of dying animals, but ultimately recognized that her own grief called her to step away from active end-of-life work and give herself the same compassion and care she had offered so freely to others.
Marisa brings many years of spiritual study and experience to her life and volunteer work. She is an Angelic Reiki Master, Intuitive Energy Healer, Meditation Teacher, and graduate of an interfaith seminary program. She believes deeply in compassion, inclusion, and the sacredness of life.
As one of the five co-founders of the Colorado End-of-Life Collaborative, Marisa believes the end of life can be as beautiful as the beginning. She has dedicated her time and talents to helping spread this new paradigm and continues to serve the Collaborative as Treasurer. She also hosts the organization’s bi-monthly Death Workers Supporting Death Workers gathering, creating a welcoming space for connection and mutual support among those who serve people and families at the end of life.
Without a doubt, Marisa is the compassionate and benevolent heart of our organization.
