- Colorado End-of-Life Collaborative's volunteer Board of Directors is thrilled to announce a special collaboration with The Natural Funeral and Willow Farm Contemplative Center. On Saturday, August 24th from 9AM-12PM we will be offering a workshop on Reverent Body Care created specifically for the EOL doula and affiliate members of the Collaborative. The event will take place at Willow Farm Contemplative Center located at 11898 N. 75th Street, Longmont, CO 80503. Reverent Body Care® is a gentle washing with natural products, anointing with pure essential oils, and dressing of the deceased. It is at the same time, an honoring, a blessing, and a letting go of the physical remains. While some may see Reverent Body Care® simply as a respectful last act of cleansing of the physical remains, others may connect with it as an ancient ceremonial blessing and taking leave of the body. The August 24th workshop is graciously created and offered by member Seth Viddal of The Natural Funeral and Susan Nemchek of Willow Farm. This sacred service is a meaningful, healing experience available to those who work with The Natural Funeral and is also a small part of Willow Farm's much larger Cause to Pause: Contemplative Care Training program. We are so fortunate that this skills workshop has been distilled down to three hours and is being made available to us as death care professionals. In this way, you will be able to further empower your clients to care for their dying loved ones in ways that honor and embrace lives that have been lived in mortal bodies. Obviously, it is also a compassionate way to care for your own loved ones in the future as well. CEOLC is proud to collaborate with two such inspirational providers in our community. Although this class is valued at $300, we are offering this special opportunity for only $22 for all who would like to participate. You can RSVP and buy your tickets on EventBrite by following this link: Reverent Body Care® for CEOLC Members. Please purchase your tickets by August 20. Scholarships are also available if needed. Send inquiries to our President Valerie Nicholas at Valerie.CEOLC@gmail.com. Unfortunately, this is an in-person only event. If you have any questions, please contact our new Secretary Christina Foushee at Christina.CEOLC@gmail.com.

- Organized religion comes with baggage too heavy for some of us, but it has a purpose. Religion is a response to key human longings we all share. Things like:A need for community. We want to feel part of something, that we have a place within a larger group, and that we fully belong there.Curiosity about the 'big questions.' What's the meaning of life? What happens when we die? What is the nature of reality? What is consciousness? Since we've been human, we've been compelled to grapple with the staggering mysteries of existence...Experiencing the sublime. We all seek occasions to break free from our conventional perceptions and tap into moments of wonder, awe, and transcendence.Join our Collaborative Member, Emma of Beautiful Life Beautiful Death Praysentia is a project we* created to speak to these longings. We hope to offer a truly relig-ish experience. Like in religion, we'll be asking big questions. Unlike religion, we won't provide answers. Instead, we'll offer a creative framework and sacred vibes-y space for you to explore mindfully within yourself, and in community. Whether you're just interested in meditating with music and a bunch of like-minded people, or you want to really play with your spirituality and relig-ishness, you'll be welcomed with open arms. Join us for Praysentia Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 10:00am! *We are: Casino Perosi - professional, Denver-based musician. www.casinoperosi.com & Emma of Beautiful Life Beautiful Death, which provides end-of-life planning services, death doula care, and meditation courses and guidance We're committed to providing Praysentia services completely free of charge but, if this project speaks to you, please consider donating.

- Colorado End-of-Life Collaborative's Volunteer Board of Directors is thrilled to announce a very special virtual workshop this October with Dr. Joy Gray, internationally known as Granddaughter Crow. Granddaughter Crow is a Medicine Woman, Shamanic Practitioner, and member of the Navajo Nation. She also holds a doctorate in organizational leadership & is an award-winning author of several books, including her latest Belief, Being & Beyond. She hosts a podcast of the same name. In her work, Granddaughter Crow blends scientific research & native wisdom to connect us with ourselves and with each other in our clearest authenticity so that we may experience fulfilling relationships, engage in rewarding business ventures & maintain a sense of well-being. This "Tools for the Sensitive" course will pull from teachings and research involving the energetics of Empaths and Highly Sensitive People while offering tools for nervous system recovery & resilience for those in heart-centered work. Granddaughter Crow recognizes that end of life practice entails navigating the energies not only of the individual at the end of their life, but also navigating the multidimensional energies of a complex system of individuals around the dying person. She has graciously & enthusiastically agreed to present her work on tools for the sensitive. The CEOLC is proud to collaborate with such an inspirational leader to bring this offering for FREE to our Doula Members & CEOLC Affiliates. We hope you'll join us on Saturday, October 5th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. to further a critical component of the CEOLC mission to provide a community of support & prevent burnout in end of life work. To participate, please RSVP to Board Treasurer Marisa Verrier via text at 720.668.2558 by X date. A Zoom Link will be shared with you prior to the event. If you have any questions or specific topics you would like to address during the workshop, please contact our Secretary Christina Foushee at Christina.CEOLC@gmail.com.
